Carl D. Perkins New Program Development Grants

PERKINS NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT GRANTS:

The Office of the Chancellor competitively allocates Carl D. Perkins state leadership funds to eligible career and technical colleges to stimulate the development of academic programs.  

ELIGIBILTY: 

Colleges within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system are eligible. An applicant may work with secondary, postsecondary, or industry partners.    

Proposals must address one or more of the following:

  • Programs that link high schools to colleges;
  • Programmatic career pathways;
  • Programs for special populations;
  • High wage and high skill, or high demand occupational needs;
  • Technical skill attainment assessment processes; or
  • Preparation for non-traditional occupations;

As part of the proposal, applicants may also address science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), transitioning from college to university programs, or career academies. 

Funds cannot be used for construction, equipment, or student wages.
